Mr. Andy Appiah-Kubi, the Deputy Minister of Railways Development has expressed disappointment in DSP Samuel Azugu for his performance when he appeared before the Emile Short Commission, Monday.
DSP Azugu who led the SWAT team to the La-Bawaleshie electoral area during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election was interrogated for more than 2 hours when he took his turn at the 3rd sitting of the Commission.
Among the avalanche of questions thrown at him was why his men wore mask when they stormed the polling station, he said even though he doesn’t know why they wore the mask, the SWAT team often wear mask when they want to disguise themselves or when they want to prevent mosquito bites.
Speaking to this, the Deputy Minister who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante-Akim North Constituency in the Ashanti Region said: “the answers he was giving shows he doesn’t even know what he was doing; he needs to be given more training. I felt so embarrassed listening to him; giving an answer to why the men were wearing mask . . . there could be a reason for doing so but I don’t know why he was giving such lame excuse; that they were trying to prevent mosquitoes . . .”
