The Member of Parliament for Ningp-Prampram, Sam Nartey George has said his commentary on national discourse has improved over the years as a politician touting himself as a mature young politician off late.
He said for the purpose of maintaining the political stability in the country, he’s consciously shifted from the dirty politics that could easily harm the country, advising other politicians and supporters of political parties alike to grow their political maturity and avoid emotions or misleading spirits in their politics.
“Anybody that has followed me, and I’ll use myself as an example; I’ve been in the frontline of Ghanaian politics for over 10 years now on national discourse and all of that. If you take my conversations or clips from eight years ago and compare it to the past three, four, five years you’ll realize that I’ve tried to evolve, I’ve tried to get better with the things I say, the comments I make, because at the end of the day, you need to get better at what you do. You must learn from the mistakes to make. I’ll be the first to admit that when I started out, some of the comments I made, today, my response in similar interviews would be completely different from the ones I’ve granted in the past. I’m getting mature every day and so I expect everybody to be getting better with experience. I challenge anybody, take my clips from two years ago, four years ago when I was Presidential spokesperson till today, and then take my clips ten years ago and do a comparison whether it’s the same tone, choice of words. And I urge every other person in political discourse to get better.” he said in an interview with host Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM.

Reports indicate that the assault on Sam George is connected to the incident which occurred at the La Bawaleshie polling station constituency where some groups of persons were shot by unknown gunmen, disrupting the voting process.
Sam George in an interaction on Kasapa 102.5 FM aftermath the violent by-election says irrespective of how badly he was treated by security officials during the exercise in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, he’s controlled his tempers and language on the unfortunate incident.
According to him, he’s not being hypocritical about his calls for clean politics by all politicians across the political divide using himself as a classic example in that respect.
“If you’re having a conversation with me then after what happened to me, i don’t think the conversation would have been this way. I would have been firing back at those who tried to hurt me. But if you listen to me today and the tone of our conversation, you will realize I’m still pushing for us to build and protect the democracy that we all have, irrespective of what has happened to me; irrespective of my distrust of the security services, i’m working with them hoping that they’ll prove me wrong.”
