A philanthropist and native of Osino in the Fanteakwa South District in eastern region, Dr Amaning Danquah who doubles as the deputy registrar in charge of operations at the pharmacy council has on Saturday 23rd March 2019 contributed his widows mite in supporting the maternity department at Osino Health Center with hospital medical equipments worth ₵12,000 to help them execute professional job with efficiency.

The items he donated includes; 4 sets of Hospital beds with mattresses, 4 sets of Bedside lockers, 2 pieces of digital BP monitors, 1 big size Doppler, 1 small size Doppler, and 4 pieces of 4-fold ward screen.

The items were received by the Physician Assistant (PA), Daniel Derbie on behalf of the maternity department even though a number of the midwives were available.
Mr Daniel Derbie happily received the items and thanked him. However he expressed a profound gratitude to this noble character and clearly acknowledged that Dr Danquah out of benevolence singly renovated the maternity ward which once had a very bad edifice and now looks modernized.

That notwithstanding, he made a passionate appeal to the general public to help them establish and resource a hospital lab for the health center since the center serves not less than 8 communities in the district and they would need about ₵60,000 to accomplish that. He again revealed that their detention ward is too small and they have only 3 hospital beds there.

In fact the hospital attendants there also attested to that fact and appealed to other sincere and honest indegenes of the land and other NGOs and stakeholders to emulate this character and come to their aid just like Oliver Twist- always ask for more.

The program was graced with representative from Osino traditional council, Assembly members from the district and that of Osino electoral area, media and friends of Dr Danquah. They all expressed joy for such benevolence, thanked him and asked for more.

Dr Amaning Danquah owns and manages a community pharmacy in Kumasi which serves as training sites for both locally and internationally trained pharmacy students. He’s also a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, KNUST and an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for Ohio Northern and Roseman Universities, USA.
