NAM 1 Freed In Dubai But Not Freed By Interpol, Could face 15-25yrs imprisonment – Lawyer

The member of Parliament for Yilo Krobo constituency in the eastern region on the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC who doubles as a private legal practitioner has revealed that though Nana Appiah Mensah popularly known in Ghana as NAM 1 is freed in Dubai, he is not totally freed as interpol is also on hunt for him and when found guilty by the police in their investigations upon the charges against him, he could be jailed for 15-25 years.

According to the honourable legal practitioner, there are a lot of charges levelled against the business mogul in Ghana and interpol could not have prosecuted him in Dubai.

In an interview on the Susubiribi morning show on Radio 1FM 100.7MHZ on Wednesday April 10 2019, Hon. Lawyer Kofi Amoatey disclosed to the host, Nsɛmpakani Nana Kwabena Addo that depending on the quantum of charges that would be levelled against NAM 1, he would face about 15 – 25 years imprisonment.

Nana Appiah Mensah, CEO of Menzgold was arrested in Dubai since December last year and after the collapse of Menzgold, there have been mixed reactions in Ghana especially among the customers.

There has also been blame games as to what really led to the collapse of the business.
