The first vice Chairman for the ruling new patriotic party, NPP in eastern region, Alhaji Umar Bodinga known in politics as field marshal has appealed to the president of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to name the Tamale interchange he recently cut sod for its construction after the minority leader, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu to shame him for his attempt to stampede the process of acquiring the $2bn sinohydro deal.
According to the outspoken chairman, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu led his party to instigate against the sinohydro deal so now that the deal has succeeded and the first project from the deal would be constructed in the North, his backyard, he wishes the President names it after the minority leader.
He made these revelations on Tuesday April 16, 2019 at the studios of Radio 1FM 100.7MHZ to the host of the Susubiribi morning show, Nana Kwabena Addo Papabi.
“The president should name Tamale interchange after Haruna Iddrisu. He led his party to write a letter to object the deal so if all his attempts failed and now the project is undertaken in his backyard, the president should name it after him”, Alhaji Bodinga posited.

Moreover, Alhaji added that the sinohydro deal is a result of barter and not a loan as been perpetrated by the opposition party.
He further said the infrastructural projects will not be done by sinohydro but would provide money worth $2 bn. Irrespective of how he was objected to by the opposition panelist, he never concurred.
