Abuakwa South MCE Advises Asiakwa Youth On Abuse Of ‘Hard Drugs’, Begs Parents To Be Vigilant On Their Children’s Upbringing

The municipal Chief executive, MCE, for Akyem Abuakwa South municipality in eastern region, Hon. Kojo Ofori -Safo has advised the youth of Asiakwa in his municipality to refrain from hard drugs, for they have lasting predicaments on the human health and appeals to the parents and guardians to be vigilant on their children’s upbringing.

The honorable Chief executive cannot fathom why the youth of today choose to do the vices even as their parents and guardians practice the virtues.

On a phone interview with Nana Kwabena Addo Papabi on the Susubiribi Morning Show on Wednesday May 15 2019, Hon. Kojo Ofori-Safo  revealed that the youth are the future of the nation but if they continue to do drugs, then the country has no future.

“Smoking wee (marijuana), cocaine, tramadol has effects on the body. You may not experience the effects now but will definitely show up when you grow up. These drugs affect the liver, lungs, intestines, kidneys and what have you,” Kojo Ofori-Safo said.

He went further to say that if the youth do not stop smoking at their youthful stage, they would have no other option than to waste their hard earned money on the effects of these drugs when they are about 50-60years.

“You will realise that after you are about 50, 60 years, you will now be spending your money to treat these sickness”, Hon. Ofori-Safo posited.

Again, he advised the parents and guardians in his municipality to critically monitor their children, their education and their upbringing in order to help straighten them up when they goof.

These advise came to bear after the RME and Twi teacher of Asiakwa salvation Army, the late George Somuah Bosompem was allegedly brutalized by a gang of six teen wee smokers.
