Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has rubbished claims that he ordered award-winning undercover journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas not to release ‘Part 2’ of his explosive documentary on illegal mining titled, ‘Galamsey Fraud.’

According to him, Anas is no longer a child, and his ‘boy’ because his scope and coverage is wider than him (Baako) and therefore he cannot influence him (Anas).

“Anas is no longer my boy as a kid, he is a big boy. He is international and his scope is wider than I can get to. I never ever influence him for good reasons. I allow him to grow but I guide him and not to truncate his own independent initiative,” he told Accra based Metro TV.

In March this year, undercover journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, announced the release of ‘Part 2’ of his explosive documentary on illegal mining titled, ‘Galamsey Fraud.’

The documentary is aimed at naming and shaming selfish and powerful individuals, stabbing President Nana Akufo-Addo and Ghanaians in the back, in his relentless efforts at fighting against illegal mining, popularly known as ‘galamsey’.

But, the ‘Part 2’ of the ‘Galamsey Fraud’ has since not been released. Rumours are rife that Anas’ boss, Mr Baako has ordered him not to release the ‘Part 2’ of the documentary.

However, Mr Baako, reacting to the claims, said there is no agenda on his part to stop him from showing ‘Part 2’ of the documentary, adding that he is not part of Tiger Eye PI to determine for the team.

Speaking on the timing, he said he is unable to give the timeline on when the ‘Part 2’ would be released.

“As for timing, I will disappoint our viewers because I cannot give them the timing,” he said.
