Mrs Philipina Akyea, the C.E.O. of Pinamaa foundation, a non profitable organization, and wife of the Abuakwa south member of Parliament who doubles as minister for works and housing, Hon. Samuel Atta Akyea, has donated over 1,000 mathematical sets to the Ghana Education service, East Akim Municipal to be disbursed to all the B.E.C.E. candidates in the municipal.

According to Mrs Philipina Akyea, this is an approach by Pinamaa foundation to ease some burdens from a section of the candidates who would be having problems in acquiring such items during the examination period.

” I have children who go to school but sometimes you will get a pupil who can’t afford pen, pencil, eraser etc. So I thought of the constituency and realised my foundation could help so I asked the municipal director to get me the total number of candidates in the municipal. So we have brought even more than the total of candidates to help them in their exams,” Mrs Philipina Akyea revealed.

However, she added and undisclosed amount to be used as transportation in disbursement of the items to the various schools and advised the candidates be careful of their celebrations after their papers. She urged them to take their studies serious and put aside after party, pool party sex and so on and so forth, rather pray to God for better grades.

“I thank God for such a beautiful thing done by the wife of our MP. Like she said some of the pupils would be finding it difficult to get for themselves. We will also make sure we distribute them equally so that the purpose and intention by which the items were brought would be fulfilled,” Mrs Grace Owusua Addo said.

Mrs Grace Owusua Addo thanked her so much but just like Oliver Twist, asked that she continues to help the municipal like how his husband has been doing.

Mrs Philipina Akyea was accompanied by almost all the constituency executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP. Checks also revealed that she has supported over 50 people to learn the various kinds of trades depending on the wish of the person.
