Thirty-Nine-year-old Saharatu Adams Lizy who posed as the daughter of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and defrauded hundreds of women within the Tamale Metropolis will today May 2, 2019 appear before a Tamale Commercial Court.
The suspect allegedly conspired with one Fuseini Adams, aged 49, Alhassan Karim, 54 and defrauded the market of an amount running into several millions of Ghana cedis under the guise of procuring foodstuffs from them meant for the Ghana School Feeding Programme.
According to the facts of the case, Saharatu Adams Lizy in a chauffeur-driven convoy of Toyota Land Cruiser V8 vehicles in June 2017 visited Tamale and met his victims who are mostly market women claiming she had been sent by the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo to buy foodstuff from them.
She claimed the items were to be channelled through an unnamed private company for both export and supplies to the Ghana School Feeding programme.

Convinced by her disposition, the market women without hesitation started supplying her with maize, beans, sorghum among others which they carted through articulator trucks to the suspect and her accomplices in Accra.
In some instances, four of the victims supplied foodstuffs worth GH¢ 1,398,420, GH¢362,800, GH¢31,000 and GH¢177,000 respectively among hundreds of the women who fell victim to the scam.
After delivery of the items, she kept promising to pay on return of the First Lady she claimed was out of the country on official duties but went into hiding thereafter together with her accomplices.
Luck however eluded her when security operatives got wind she was getting married at the Bethel Prayer Ministry International opposite the Kumasi Police Deport at Anomangye-Mpatasie and was trailed leading to her arrest at secret location while on honeymoon.
She led the police to arrest two of her accomplices who are currently facing trial with her.
She has been provisionally charged with eight counts of conspiracy to defraud by false pretences and defrauding by false pretences and will be arraigned before court today May 2, 2019.
