Minister To Announce Roadmap On Election Of MMDCEs

The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama, will on Wednesday, May 29 announce the roadmap on election of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives MMDCEs.

The Minister would take her turn at the Meet-the-Press series on Wednesday at the Information Ministry’s conference hall, to brief the media about the Ministry’s activities and achievements over the past two years.

The election of MMDCEs was a major campaign promise by the NPP in the 2016 Elections, therefore the Minister would use the media encounter to provide further details on the status of the agenda.

She would also give an update on the roadmap to the urban development programme and the alternative livelihood programme for small scale miners after the ban on illegal mining.
