Pressure is mounting on a Deputy Minister for Energy and Member of Parliament (MP) for the Afigya Kwabre South Constituency, William Owuraku Aidoo to forget about running for his seat again if he does not want to be humiliated at the polls in 2020, MyNewsGh.Com reports.

The MP, who is serving a second term in Parliament has become a subject of severe criticisms amongst his constituents, following what they describe as “incompetence” on his part, for his failure to bring development to the constituency since he was voted for in 2012.

Though the Afigya Kwabre South District is peri-urban to the Kumasi metropolis and some of its adjoining municipalities like Suame, Old Tafo and Kwabre East, it remains one of the most underdeveloped in the Ashanti region, in terms of social infrastructure.

Some degraded roads, bridges and public basic schools in the area predates the tenure Hon. Owuraku Aidoo, with some communities like Afrancho Bronkong, Atimatim Chairman and Cocoa Ano virtually cut off from other communities due to the nature of the linking roads.

In a sound byte of the aggrieved constituents on Kumasi-based Angel FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the MP received bashing for neglecting his duties and refusing to go down to the communities to check for himself their plight and finding ways to address them.

They they expressed regret for ever voting for Hon. Owuraku Aidoo, warning him not to attempt to contest for his seat in 2020, or they vote against him.

The assemblyman for the Atimatim Electoral Area, Alfred Adu Mensah corroborated the claims by the constituents, adding that the MP always finds an excuse whenever he calls him to attend to the needs of his community.

He said apart from some street lights that were recently fixed in the community, he cannot point to any other thing that the MP has done in his community.

Contrary to the claims by the constituents, MyNewsGh.com can confirm that some roads in the constituency have been constructed since the current government took office.

The road linking Kodie and Aduman has been asphalted; electricity connections have also been extended to some communities recently.
