Teacher murder(VIDEO); Hon. Atta Akyea visits bereaved family, donates ₵2,000 and condemns the attack by the teen ‘wee smokers

The sitting member of Parliament for Abuakwa south municipality who doubles as the minister for works and housing, Hon. Lawyer Atta Akyea on Saturday May 18 2019 paid a visit to the family of the late George Somuah Bosompem, to mourn with them, console them and registered his support for them before, during and after the burial of the late George Somuah Bosompem.

The Abuakwa south legislator, could not believe how and why children of today could go to the extent of pouncing on a teacher rendering a good service to the nation. According to him, never in his lifetime had he witnessed or heard such a shameful act in the area.

Speaking at the meeting with the family members in the matrimonial home of the late George Somuah Bosompem in Asiakwa, monitored by Radio 1 News, the legal practitioner sent his condolence to the family especially for losing the breadwinner of the family. He, on behalf of the Abuakwa south constituency of the NPP donated an amount of ₵2,000 to help them get casket for the late teacher’s burial.
“I was in a tour with the president and I had to return after hearing this atrocity. Never in my life have I heard or seen this happen in this community. Take heart because it has already happened even though it has disgraced us and the community. We didn’t want to grant interview with anyone”, he said.

Hon. Atta Akyea pleaded with the family to inform them with the day to day preparations leading to the burial so they can also give their support. He also condemned the act and quizzed whether the teens were trained or not.
” People are saying they did this because there is no work but it’s not true. It’s their upbringing, if its because there is no work then people in Accra are killing more. Parents have a huge responsibility and I pity them because the case has gone far and many people are furious of the act,” Hon. Atta Akyea posited.

However, after pledging his support to giving the late George Somuah Bosompem a befitting burial, the family thanked him and the entire constituency for their unflinching support ever since they lost their family member. The leader of the family revealed to him that the burial is set for 27th July 2019.

In attendance of the meeting were the constituency chairman, Yaw Boakye, first vice chairman – Ofori Boadu, 2nd Vice – Albert Komodzi Secretary -Julius Okyere, Organizer – Samuel Appiah, Youth Organizer – Kofi Asare Buotuo, Treasurer -Kankam Eric, Nasara Coordinator – Faad Mohammed, Dep Nasara Coordinator – Hawa, Women Organiser – Grace Aboagyewa, Dep. – Leticia Adu, Financial Secretary – Odum, Com. Dir – Nana Kwasi Bediatuo and other party faithfuls.
Also present were the parents of the late George Somuah, the widow and other family members.
