VIDEO: Don’t Panic, Be Vigilant And Report All Misconducts To The Police – Abuakwa South MP Advises

The minister for Works and Housing and member of parliament for Abuakwa south municipality, Hon. Samuel Atta Akyea has waded into the circumstances surrounding the death of the late George Somuah Bosompem, the former RME and Twi teacher of Asiakwa Salvation Army basic school and has advised the teachers to be more vigilant in the course of rendering their services.

According to him they should report any issues of fear to the police to take charge.

Briefing the press on Saturday 18th May 2019, after visiting the family of the late George Somuah Bosompem, he revealed that they were sad to hear such incidence happened especially on the Akyem land but he used the opportunity to condemn the acts, charged parents to be more responsible and teachers too to be more vigilant.

“Parents have some responsibilities to play. It’s not a work to be armed robber when there is no work. Train your child well so they don’t grow to be burden onto the community. What is your worth when you get a lot of wealth and your child becomes wayward?” the minister quizzed.

Again, he charged the community to report cases that are not in conformity with norms and traditions of the community to the police. According to him, shielding them now may have bitter impact on the community some time yo come.

“I don’t know why someone will be smoking herb in the town and no one is reporting him. The culprits live here in Asiakwa so the community should wake up, and report them to the police. They know them so they should report them. You may shield them for now but would later grow and the safety of the community would be at stake.” Hon. Atta Akyea added.

The Abuakwa South legislator who finally tasked the teachers to put away fear and work for the community, asked them to report any case of nuisances in the course of rendering their services to the police.
“The teachers should not be afraid. They must be vigilant. No one can come to this town and misbehave. They should report and misconducts the police,” he said.

The burial of the late George Somuah Bosompem, would come off 27th July 2019 and the NPP have registered their readiness to support the family.
