MTN Donates Food Items To Muslim Community In Kumasi

MTN Ghana has donated food items, a ram and airtime worth GHC 5,000.00 to the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam towards the celebration of Eid-ul-fitr.

The food items, which include vegetable cooking oil, bottled water, assorted soft drinks and bags of rice, were handed over to the secretary to the Chief Imam, Ustaz Ahmed Seidu at a brief ceremony in Kumasi.

Mr. Simon Amoh, Senior Manager, General Trade for Northern Ghana, said the gesture was an annual commitment of MTN to celebrate Muslims for a successful 30 day Ramadan fast.

“MTN as a company tries to establish positive relationships with all segments of our communities and customers. It is to also to increase our visibility and demonstrate our leadership of the market”, he stated.

He said the donation was a firm commitment signaling the company’s conviction that it had a positive relationship with the Muslim community.

Mr Amoh congratulated Muslims for a successful completion of the month-long religious activity, saying that, MTN would continue to support every segment of its customer base.

Ustaz Ahmed Seidu, receiving the items, praised MTN for the gesture to the Islamic community over the years.

“MTN deserved commendation for its numerous social interventions which had impacted several lives”, he added.
