One of the campaign promises of the governing New Patriotic Party, NPP is the restoration of the Nursing Training Allowances and of course catapulted in their winning election 2016.

Promising is one side of the coin and implementing is other, the NPP after winning the elections have made the nation believe that they have fulfilled their promises by restoring the nursing training and teacher training allowances.

However, information available to Radio1News indicate that students of Jirapa Community Health Nursing Training College in the Upper West region have their 10 months allowances in arrears.

In an interview with a few of the students, they disclosed that they have gone through all the necessary procedures and requirements needed for the allowances but for 10 months now their pockets are dry.

Moreover, the students revealed that they have had a lot of engagements with the authorities of the school but nothing prudent has come out of the several engagements.

However, the NPP released a statement that all nursing training allowances have been paid including those in 3 months arrears.

It is based on this that students of Jirapa Community Nursing Training College think the promise is a fallacy since they have been denied and rejected for a long time and they see no nearing hope.
