Akufo-Addo Pays Glowing Tribute Junior Agogo As He Goes Home Today

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has paid his last respect to Manuel Junior Agogo with a tribute full of admiration and respect for the ex-Ghana football star.
The late Agogo, who was a fan favourite of the Black Stars passed away on August 22, 2019 and will today, September 20, 2019 be cremated in London.
According to President Akufo-Addo, the late Junior Agogo is one of the most dedicated players the country has ever had.
He also stated that Agogo’s exceptional striking ability, work ethic and professionalism were also acknowledged by his trainers and peers and his unwavering dedication and professionalism won the admiration of the entire football fraternity.

The deputy Sports Minister, Perry Okudzeto is expected to grace the occasion and read the tribute on behalf of the President.
Here are excerpts of the tribute.
“On behalf of the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Government and the people of Ghana; the Ministy of Youth and Sports expresses its deepest regret and sorrow at the demise of Manuel Agogo Junior, one of the finest and most dedicated football players Ghana has ever had.
The late Junior Agogo made a great contribution to the National Football team and he was deservedly recognised as a dedicated member of the team by both the coaching staff and teammates. His exceptional striking ability, work ethic and professionalism were also acknowledged by his trainers and peers.
His unwavering dedication and professionalism won the admiration of the entire football fraternity and fans globally and today, as we mourn the tragedy that has befallen our nation, let us also celebrate our national hero for the talent, skill and youthful exuberance he brought to our footballing nation. – portions of the tribute read.
