One of the Acting Deputy Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the National Youth Authority, (NYA), Bright Acheampong who was sacked by President Nana Akufo Addo alongside his boss, Emmanuel Asigri and the other Deputy CEO, Richard Rocky Joojo Obeng has indicated he will not go down without a fight, MyNewsGh.com reports.
“I knew I could be thrown out of the office by the president the very day of my appointment or the next, but I never wanted to be sent out due to corruption or any malpractices”, he said in an interview with Accra-based Okay FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
On Tuesday 3rd September 2019 in a letter signed by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Isaac Asiamah, they were sacked following their alleged involvement in some questionable procurement practices at the Authority.
They have since handed over their offices to Mr. Emmanuel Anaman-Mensah, Director of Technical projects at the NYA.

“I regret to inform you that the President of the Republic has terminated your appointment. You are directed to hand-over your office to Mr. Emmanuel Anaman-Mensah, Director of Technical Projects of the Authority and proceed to collect any terminal benefits or facilities due you under relevant law,” excerpts of their individual dismissal letters read.
But Mr Acheampong insists that his hands are clean and that he will not sit aloof for his hard earned reputation to be dragged through the mud; vowing to “go to every length to clear his name”.
He warned nobody would stand in his way to seeking redress to the matter since he reserves the right to do so.
According to him, he is the one that blew the cover of the alleged procurement malpractices at the authority, so he could not at the same time be involved in or benefit from same.
Earlier, the other acting Deputy Chief Executive blamed his boss for the alleged procurement violations at the Authority.
Richard Rocky Joojo Obeng, who was in-charge of Finance and Administration told Adom FM in an interview that, his boss, Emmanuel Sin-Nyet Asigri acted unilaterally by issuing payment to Prefos, a company it collaborated with for a streetlight training project.
Bright Acheampong has also said the former CEO created a “slippery environment at the authority, that cause people who did not tread cautiously to fall”.
Mr Emmanuel Sin-Nyet Asigri has however not commented on his dismissal and that of his two deputies.
