Pae Mu Ka @20 Team Member Shades Sarkodie Over Documentary Snub?

The controversy over Sarkodie’s failure to feature in Obrafour’s documentary ahead of a mega concert to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the latter’s release of the ‘Pae Mu Ka’ album seems not to be dousing anytime soon as a member of the planning team has subtly jabbed Sarkodie.

It is instructive to point out that Sarkodie has for years revered rapper Obrafour as his godfather. In fact, both artistes have collaborated on a number of songs – reasons the BET Award winner’s absence from a documentary which chronicles the music life of the veteran stoked conversations.

Titled “Lyrics of a legend”, the documentary features prominent industry players including Hammer, M.anifest, KOD and Yvonne Nelson.

“We invited everybody. If you don’t see anyone, ask them why they are not there. Some people were around but they didn’t want to show up,” Obrafour said during an interaction with the media.

On the back of his explanation, music producer and member of Team Obrafour, Justice Oteng known in showbiz circles as Wei Ye Oteng seems to have poked Sarkodie in a Facebook post.

“Be careful who you go all out to support with your life, for not all that bow at your feet is out of humility, but rather the benefits. Forget hype and face facts. Call me for you tickets let’s make it happen…,” the caption of some pictures, including one which captured Sarkodie and Obrafour read.

Why it appears to be a dig in the eye of Sarkodie?

In 2017, Sarkodie who had/has been tagged arrogant exuded humility when he bowed to Obrafour after their performance at the Rapperholic concert.

Before this epic moment, rumours were rife that there was a friction between the two rappers. These rumours somewhat gained grounds following the release of some records from both camps.

Obrafour who once endorsed Sarkodie as the ‘heir to the rap throne’ had in ‘Kasahari’ thrown shots at new crop of rappers for lowering the standard but many music lovers interpreted the track to be a ‘diss’ track to Sarkodie due to some specific references in the lyrics.

In what appeared to be a reply to Obrafour, Sarkodie in ‘Almighty’ lamented how people were eager to bring him down but he keeps rising due to the grace of God Almighty.
