This year’s computerised school selection placement has raised a lot of issues to be addressed and while Ghana Education Service and other stakeholders are tirelessly working to address the mess, the eastern regional communication officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Williams Ampomah Darlas has on the other hand accused the president of the nation, H.E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo as behind the current struggles in relation to the placement system.
He argued that the Akufo-Addo led NPP government sacked the experienced workers at the placement center and brought in inexperienced party cohorts and footsoldiers.
He made such accusations on the Susubiribi morning show on radio 1fm 100.7mhz on Wednesday 18th September 2019 when the host, Nana Kwabena Addo asked of his take on the current challenges in the school placement system.
“Three months to placement, President Akufo-Addo changed the system that has been operational since 2005. I’m not an expert in I.T. but I’m expert in common sense. What I know is before you start a project, you have to test run it for some time but 3 months to placement you sack the experienced and you expect the system to smoothly run?” Darlas quizzes.

Not only did he substantiate with the sacking of the experience but also added that Protocol admission contributes to the mess at the placement system.
“A student who qualifies for the school will go to the school but would be revealed that his/her place has been booked by NPP and that brought the clamour at the Black Stars square,” Darlas added.
Meanwhile the minister of education, Hon. Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has on the other hand accused former president Mahama as a sabotage to the current situation.
