Coach Kwasi Appiah Hints At Black Star Call-Ups For Myron Boadu And Cody Gakpo

Black Stars coach James Kwasi Appiah is currently touring Europe to scout for players for the senior national team the Black Stars.

According to the Coach,he chose to embark on this tour during the international break because he has seen some of the players play a lot of time but needed to talk to them in person.

“I have been visiting the players. I have been to Holland and Belgium. I have spotted about four to five players.I have seen them play a lot of times but I needed to see them and talk to them in person.

“Out of the five I have spoken to from Holland they are all willing to play for the Black Stars but there are some of them who have played for the junior national teams of Holland so we will have to do a nationality switch for them”

He hinted that those he is scouting there are a lot of strikers in them.

“Those I’m scouting there are a lot of strikers in the list all that is needed is that they are willing and ready to play for Ghana” he stressed.

The coach of the Black Stars was in the Stadion De Vijverberg the home grounds of FC De Graafschap where the Jong Oranje or Holland U-21 national team defeated Portugal by 4-2.

On the day Dutch born Ghana Myron Boadu who has been in good form for his club AZ Alkmaar this season netted twice.

Another player who is eligible for the Ghana although he can also play for Togo Cody Gakpo who plays for PSV Eindhoven too came on as a substitute to set up the Myron Boadu’s second goal.

Myron Boadu has this season scored four goals in nine appearances in the Eredivisie while providing five assist.

In the Europa league he has scored three goals in eight appearances sending his season’s tally to 7 goals 9 assist in 17 matches so far this season.
