Residents of the Atiwa West constituency in the Eastern region have hit the streets to protest against the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Kwesi Amoako Atta who is also the Minister for Roads and Highways over the absence of developmental projects.
According to the protesters, the MP, among other things, has failed to fix major roads in his own constituency even as the minister responsible for Ghana’s roads sector.
The residents talked about hardship in the area and urged Ghanaians to consider voting for other candidates for the needed development.
The protesters, during the demonstration, chanted songs in which they mentioned the unresolved problems in the area.
The protesters were heard in the song saying ‘Amoako Atta we Don’t Want You’, You have Destroyed our Schools,’ ‘Our Township,’ ‘We have no Police Station and Jobs.”
The regent of Akyem-Abomosu, Nana Boadu Peprah and his elders, who endorsed the protest while addressing the media, reiterated the many challenges facing the residents and appealed to the president to call the minister to order.
