Ghana Wheelchair Tennis trains Ahead Of ITF Tournament

On Saturday, 26th October, 2019, Ghana Wheelchair Tennis Team had their final residential training camp at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of the 2019 ITF Puma Engineering Wheelchair Tennis Open Tournament in Abuja Nigeria. The team is expected to leave Accra on Monday 28th Oct 2019.

The National Coordinator for Ghana Wheelchair Tennis, Mr. Henry Larbi met the team together with the Technical Director of Ghana Wheelchair Tennis and the C.E.O of Tenolf Sports Ghana to motivate and encourage them to do their best and make the nation proud in Abuja.

The second edition of the PUMA Engineering Wheelchair Open will serve off on 29 October – 2 November at the National Tennis Centre in Abuja.

The tournament which is a hard-court event on the ITF Future Series, will feature wheelchair players from around Africa in the men’s and women’s singles categories, as well as the men’s and women’s doubles, all jostling for a share of the $3,500 in prize money.

Like it’s inaugural edition last year, this year’s event will have a main draw size of 16 in both the men’s and women’s singles, while the doubles for both sexes will have a main draw size of 8.

Team Ghana is made up of Team Captain – Abdul Razak Nuhu, Abdullai Samadu Sofo, Daniel Laryea, Bridget Nartey and Bridget Konadu Mensah.
