Highly-rated Ghanaian defender, Mohammed Salisu has disclosed that he is motivated to play at such a top-level because of a promise he made to his mother before moving to Europe.

Currently just 20 years of age, the center-back has shown great potential following his explosive form for Spanish club Real Valladolid in the ongoing Spanish La Liga season.

He moved from Ghana when he was 13 years and has managed to progressively improve his game over the past years.

He has seen tremendous progress in the last seven months after his mature performance earned him a promotion into the first team of Real Valladolid.

Since that time he has not looked back and is currently one of the most sought after young defenders in the la Liga and to some extent Europe.

Speaking in a recent interview, Mohammed Salisu has shared that his promise to his mother before leaving Ghana is his source of inspiration.

“When I left Ghana, I promised myself that I would make my family proud of me, Salisu remembers

“The mentality is the key”, the pacey center-back observed.
