Okyenhene @20: (VIDEO) MTN Ghana Supports Anniversary With ₵100,000

The largest telecommunication network in Ghana, MTN Ghana, has committed an amount of ₵100,000 to support the ongoing celebration of the 20 years enstoolment of His Royal Majesty, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, paramount chief of Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area.

The telecommunication network made the donation on Friday October 4 2019 at Ofori Panin fie in Kyebi during the launching of the 20 years anniversary.

The representatives of MTN Ghana, Acting CEO – Mrs Bene Amponsah, HRM – Madam Jemima Quortey and other dignitaries of MTN openly said, as custom demands, they couldn’t turn down the invite and therefore presented themselves together with a cheque of ₵100,000 and other drinks to support the anniversary.

The program was highly attended by a lot of traditional rulers in the Area, Islamic clerics, clergies, citizens of Akyem and representatives from government, notable ones being, the minister for chieftaincy and religious affairs – Hon. Kofi Dzamesi who was the special guest, Deputy minister of education – Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo, Municipal Chief Executive of Abuakwa South – Hon. Kojo Ofori-safo, Chairman of Ghana Scholarship Bord, etc.

The launching was composed of cultural recitations, culture dance, speeches, among others.

The occasion was also used to launch an official cloth for the anniversary.

On the 4th of October 1999, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin II ascended the highest throne of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area and has been instrumental in Akyem development.
