SAD!(Akyem Nsutam): 5 Dead, 11 Sustain Serious Injuries As Sprinter Bus Collides Head-On With Cement Truck

It was full of sorrow, weep and agony in the early hours of Sunday morning at Akyem Nsutam in the Fanteakwa south district in the eastern region when a white coloured sprinter bus with registration number AW 221 – 14 end route to Accra collided head-on with a fully packed cement truck also with registration number GE 1465 – 12 end route to Kumasi.

According to information available to Radio1News, given by eyewitnesses, the sprinter bus with over speeding in attempt to overtake other vehicles was so unlucky to collide with the cement truck which was on end route to Kumasi.

Both drivers are alive, the sprinter mate is confirmed dead while the mate in the cement truck sustained injuries.

However, the youth of Nsutam are saying no more to Accidents and are calling on government to provide speed rumps within two weeks or block the road in a demonstration to keep the remind authorities on the speed rumps they have called for, over a year now.

Bunso fire service and Kyebi MTTD were around to salvage the menace when roadsafety towing vehicle was used to tow the vehicles to ease the traffic jam at Nsutam.

The injured were taken to Kyebi government hospital and Osiem, Hawa Memorial hospital while the dead were taken to Kyebi morgue.

The sprinter driver, claimed he had a burst tyre and lost control meanwhile eyewitnesses strongly refute that claim.

Unfortunately, a coconut seller was also hurt when the cement truck skid off the road to his side of business.
