The key words under discussion is love and hatred (hate).
So let’s interrogated them one after the other by definition.
Love is the feeling that a person’s happiness is very important to you, and the way you show this feeling in your behaviour towards them.
Hatred or hate is an emotion. Hatred could invoke feelings of animosity, anger, or resentment, which can be directed against certain individuals, groups, entities, objects, behaviors, concepts, or ideas.
Hatred is often associated with feelings of anger, disgust and a disposition towards the source of hostility.

1 John 9 to 11 opines that
“Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness. Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble. But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them”.
The Holy prophet of Islam (peace be upon him) said
“By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, you will not enter Paradise unless you believe, and you will not believe unless you love each other. Should I direct you to something that if you constantly do it, you would love each other? Spread the greetings of peace among you.” [ sahih Muslim]
In addition
“God will ask on the Day of Judgment: ‘Where are those who loved each other for the sake of My glory? Today, – on a day when there is no shade but mine – I shall shade them with My shade.” (Sahîh Muslim ).
Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W) stressed : “Be kind, for whenever kindness becomes part of something, it beautifies it. Whenever it is taken from something, it leaves it tarnished.” ( Imam Bukhari’s Book of Muslim Manners).
So in essence my humble thoughts are:
More smiling, less worrying. More compassion, less judgment. More blessing, less stress. More love, less hate.
If you want to forget something or someone, never hate it, or never hate him/her. Everything and everyone that you hate is engraved upon your heart; if you want to let go of something, if you want to forget, you cannot hate.
I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.
Throughout life people will make you mad, disrespect you and treat you bad.
Let God deal with the things they do, because hate in your heart will consume you too. Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it.
Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it.
There is no envy, jealousy, or hatred between the different colors of the rainbow. And no fear either. Because each one exists to make the others’ love more beautiful.
Assalamu Alaikum( Peace be upon you)
