Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that no government comes closer to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as far as the development of the North East Region is concerned.

Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony of a watermelon processing plant and a 100-bed facility in Walewale in the West Mamprusi Municipality of the North East Region on Monday, he observed that there is no constituency across Ghana where there are no major projects ongoing.

“If you come to the North East Region, we are going to do so many projects across. Bunkpurugu-Nalerigu road within a month we will start, the Gbintri-Nalerigu road, Wulugu-Kpasenkpe road, Yagaba-Mankarigu road, Chereponi township roads, Namang-Burugu-Dimia-Karaga link road and one of my favourites the Misio-Prima Bridge”, he listed some of the projects earmarked for execution.

He stressed “Ladies and gentlemen, what you can tell without any fear of contradiction is that with the government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo…the development projects that are coming to the North East Region have no comparator in any government in the history of Ghana. There is no challenger since independence. What we have been able to do in the North East Region, no government can come close.”

These development projects he observed exclude the Pwalugu Dam “one billion dollars that we are putting in Pwalugu Dam. By the time we finish with these, there will be no government that will come close to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.”

Dr Bawumia observed that the NPP has proven it is competent enough to manage the affairs of the country and cautioned Ghanaians against allowing themselves to be deceived by the NDC that has over the years proven it is incapable of managing the affairs of the country.
