If not the most dangerous district, believe me not you, Fanteakwa south district is one of the most dangerous areas to ride, drive, or walk through in the evening.
While surrounding districts and municipalities are lit in the evening, total darkness consumes the streets of Fanteakwa South district in the eastern region even when there is no black out.
Particular mentions are the stretch from Asiakwa junction to Osino on the Accra – Kumasi highway. From Osiem through Bosuso to Begoro. Osino to Heman, etc.
When residents of Abuakwa South Municipality, Abuakwa North Municipality, Atiwa East and Atiwa West have no really such problems, it appears Fanteakwa south has no saviour yet.

To my dismay, the District Chief Executive of the district, Hon. Kwasi Ntori Adjabeng revealed to me, Obido Nana Gyasi in a phone interview that he is not aware there is no street light from Asiakwa junction to Osino. He promised to take it up but till now, nothing is done even when the former assembly member of Nsutam/Nsuapemso electoral area, Hon. Eric Bosompem also disclosed that he had severally taken up the issue to assembly.
Now who is telling the truth? That is not even the case?
My problem is who is the rescuer? At a time that the highways authorities are also not ready to remedy the situation. Even when the stretch is a very busy stretch.
Lest you forget, Easter is fast approaching, while Valentine is almost here. People travel all the way from Accra and its environs to Kwahu for the easter festivities and they use that route. Those around Osino, Nsutam, Bunso, also journey to Wirenkyiren Amanfrom for the Valentine festivity and they equally use that route.
Are the authorities waiting for a mess before they tackle the issue.
Moving from the main stretch, Fanteakwa south is one of the districts with the most deplorable states of roads. No town roads and a lot of unengineered roads. Who is not working? Authorities must rise up and do something as soon as possible.
