NPP Primaries: Grandson of Adu Boahen Files His Nomination To Contest Abuakwa North Seat

A grandson of the late Professor Albert Adu Boahen, (once a Veteran Politician, academic and historian) one Mr Kofi Obeng-Mensah, a pharmacist has stepped into the shoes of his grandfather to contest for the parliamentary seat of Akyem Abuakwa North Constituency in the eastern region on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP.
Kofi Obeng-Mensah as he is affectionately called, a nephew of the late J. B. Danquah Adu has picked his nomination form, filled and submitted on 31st January 2020 to the Abuakwa North constituency awaiting vetting.
Filing his nomination to the constituency, together with a teeming patriotic supporters, he added a tricycle to support the work in the constituency.
In a phone interview with the host of the “Issues” (a political show on Radio 1 100.7fm), Owurakou Asamoah, he disclosed his readiness to unseat the incumbent MP and work towards retaining the seat with a huge gap.

“My political ambition is nurtured and grown to the extent that i need to respond to the call. The call from my constituents to come and serve them. Carpenters called me, Masons called me, those i’ve been charitable to are calling for my service. They went to pick the forms for me and i had to answer to their call. The call to serve them”- Mr Kofi Obeng-Mensah said.
According to him, his plans of actions; thus visions and missions would be spelt out for the public consumption after their vetting exercise.
Mr Kofi Obeng-Mensah is a pharmacist, head of Enforcement and intelligence gathering department of the pharmacy council of Ghana. He is also a pastor at the Spirit Reign Chapel, Accra. Mr Obeng-Mensah is a proud old student of Pope John’s Senior High School and an Aluminus of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
He is contesting the deputy minister of Education, in-charge of TVET Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo.
NPP has set 25th April 2020 for their Parliamentary Primaries and Presidential Congress.
