The concern youth of Atiwa West Youth Association in the eastern region have raised concern about the alleged attempt to disqualify one of the aspirants in the upcoming NPP parliamentary primaries and therefore pleads with the executives of the party not to take such a decision for any attempt to disqualify an aspirant may not bring peace in the constituency and will eventually affect the 2020 general election.
According to the concerned youth, the community has always co-habitated peacefully before and after primaries and this year must not be a different.
In a press conference organised yesterday by the concerned youth, the PRO of the association Ankrah Uriel revealed that their attention have been drawn to a decision by the party executives to disqualify one of the aspirants but as to who to disqualify, they are not privy to and therefore urges the party executives from national to the constituency never to take such a decision for it would adversely affect the constituency.
“We were home and heard there was a meeting at the weekend when the executives went for funeral of one of the executives that they would do all they can to disqualify one of the candidates in the competition. As to who would be disqualified, we don’t know but road minister, Hon. Amoako Attah and Dr Owusu Akyem have come too far to face any disqualification. Remember, they all have followers and when that happens, it will bring mayhem in a constituency that has always been very peaceful before, during and after any election.” Ankra said.

According to him, for every rumor there is an iota of truth and therefore urge the executives to leave the disqualification in the hands of the delegates.
“To every rumor there is an iota of truth that is why we are saying if it’s true, then our executives must stand firm and go according to the rules of the game. Rules are rules without them we are nothing than savages. So lets give the onus to the delegates”
Moreover, the secretary for the association, Yaw Boabeng appealed to the authorities to ensure history repeats itself for Atiwa NPP is noted for peace and love so any action to disenfranchise any aspirant would go against the party.
According to him, from time immemorial, there have been peaceful transition of powers and this year must follow suit without any malice.
“I will appeal to the executives that they would make the vetting very transparent for our constituency is peaceful. From the time of Yaw Banin Darko, Yaw Bempong Yeboah, the late Eden Ankamah and now our Hon. Minister, all have been very peaceful so our executives must ensure same.” – Yaw Boabeng said
The Atiwa West NPP parliamentary candidates Hon. Kwasi Amoako Atta and Dr Owusu Akyem would be battling each other with ideas in developing the constituency since they both have pledged not to engage in politics of insults.
