The youth of Kwabeng, district capital of Atiwa West district in the eastern region have threatened to invoke curses on the NPP delegates in the Atiwa West constituency should they go ahead to endorse the incumbent member of Parliament who doubles as the road and highways minister, Hon. Kwasi Amoako Atta.
According to the irate youth, their member of Parliament, as a matter of fact has failed the constituency in the sense that while other constituencies can boast of development, same cannot be said about Atiwa west constituency.
In an interview with Radio1News, the convener, Kwakye Maxwell revealed that the youth are prepared to invoke curses on any delegate that votes for hon. Kwasi Amoako Atta.
“The youth of Kwabeng are asking Hon. Amoako Atta to pinpoint what he has done for Kwabeng ever since he became an MP. We don’t want him again. Any delegate who votes for him will incur the consequences of our curses. We have schnapps and eggs. We will invoke curses on them come Wednesday. We will curse them, their families and their generations yet unborn. We need change. Kwabeng needs change.” – Maxwell revealed.

However, earlier in the day, the youth had made such pronouncements twice on the Kwabeng information center to warn the delegates.
When asked whether they are not pushed by the other aspirant or anyone influencing them to take such decision, Maxwell said “if I have taken money from anyone for doing this, God should punish me. I have not taken anything from anyone.”
Moreover, he said the youth are taking such a decision because they are rejected by their MP. None of the youth of Kwabeng has benefitted from the Road minister and for that matter, can’t be repeated to lead them.
As the road to NPP primaries draws closer, delegates would decide on April 25 2020, if Hon. Kwasi Amoako Atta, incumbent MP or Dr Owusu Akyem should lead them as their parliamentary candidate should the two successfully go through vetting.
