Covid-19: Cargo Car Transporting Scores Of People Impounded At Akyem Nsutam Barrier

Scores of people loaded in a cargo car en route fro Accra to Kumasi have been left stranded at Akyem Nsutam in the Fanteakwa South district in the eastern region after they were impounded at the Nsutam Barrier.
The white cargo car with green stripes is with the registration number GS 4677-17
Information available to Radio1News reveal that the about four scores of travellers who have been revealed to be hawkers in Accra (Kayaye) were trying to escape the lockdown in car but failed.
Speaking with a couple of them, they have no place of abode in Accra and do find it sensible to remain there since government has asked everyone to remain indoors. They therefore took they opportunity to move to their hometowns for safety from the deadly pandemic coronavirus.

Others appealed to government and individuals involved to help them get to their destination since they haven’t eaten since morning. The potters, all female, with their kids are now residing at Nsutam D/A basic school.
The driver also revealed that he was trying to help them go home safely.
However, the district chief executive of Fanteakwa south, Hon. Kwasi Ntori Adjabeng and Nsutam Chief, Osabarima Baafi Sarpong Kumankuma are in place to find the way out.
