Covid-19 Fight: Dr Amaning Sets The Pace, As He Donates Hand Sanitisers, Infrared Thermometers, etc. To Fanteakwa South District Health Directorate

As the world battles the deadly pandemic coronavirus also known as Covid-19 of which Ghana has not been excused, a philanthropist and native of Osino, capital of Fanteakwa south district in the eastern region, Dr Daniel Amaning Danquah who doubles as the deputy registrar in charge of operations at the Ghana Pharmacy Council has on Saturday, March 21 2020, committed his widow’s mite to procure hand sanitisers, infrared thermometers, Veronica buckets and other essential medical supplies needed to intensify the preparedness of Fanteakwa south health directorate to combat this deadly disease.

Dr Daniel Amaning Danquah who is seeking the mandate of the NPP delegates to become the Fanteakwa South’s parliamentary candidate in the December 7 general poll realised the need for the district to also show their preparedness to face the disease.

Dr Daniel Amaning Danquah who is noted for his passion for seeking for the physical, mental and social well being of individuals, especially his constituents was received by the district health director, Mr Attuahene Agyeman with a few staff members in front of the maternity block, he, (Dr Amaning) renovated.

The list of items delivered include: Infrared thermometers – 2pcs, Hand Sanitisers – 12 gallons, Hand Gloves – 11 boxes, Cotton wool 200gm – 4pcs, cotton wool 50gm – 7pcs, Veronica bucket – 1.

The district health director was overwhelmed and thanked him for such a benevolence, but like Oliver Twist, always asks for more, appealed to him to never end there and to the general public and well meaning indegenes of the district to follow suit.

The director, acknowledged the fact that the district had already made a decision to buy hand sanitisers and others to fight the coronavirus but as at the time Dr Amaning donated his items, the health centers were only managing at their own risks. He also acknowledged that adding infrared thermometers to the items at a time that covid -19 is friendly with the traditional thermometers, makes the items more valuable and dear to them.

Dr Amaning also urged the citizens to as a matter of fact abide by the guidelines of the health ministry in order to help live safely without fear and panic.

He is noted for organising free medical care in all the communities in the district, organising free women empowered program as alternative livelihoods in all the communities in the districts, also helping a couple of youth to learn trade among providing hospital equipments and capacity building for midwives in the district. He is a made ready for development.

Dr Daniel Amaning Danquah, a native of Osino, holds a PhD in clinical pharmacy, with honors from Ghana colleges of pharmacists Fellowship Awards, 2016 as well as the Bill and Melinda Gates Fellowship Award for Research Scientists in 2015. He owns and manages a community pharmacy in Kumasi which serves as training sites for both locally and internationally trained pharmacy students.

He’s again a part-time lecturer at the faculty of pharmacy and pharmaceutical Sciences, KNUST and an adjunct clinical instructor for Ohio Northern and Roseman Universities, USA.
