A former NDC Parliamentary Candidate aspirant for the Amasaman Constituency, Hajia Mariam Dzifa Ibrahim, has described her fellow woman and chairperson of the electoral commission, Mrs Jean Mensah as inhumane and insensitive to go ahead with the processes of compiling a new voters register at a time the pandemic coronavirus is a scare to the globe.

According to her, if there is money to compile the new register, that money should be channeled to combating the world deadly disease, Covid-19.

In a phone interview with Citizen Kofi Owusu on Ahotor 92.3fm, the vociferous member of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, could not fathom why Jean Mensah is still pushing for the new voter compilation and asked who would risk his/her life to queue for the register and later contracts the disease and subsequently dies?

“Look at countries like China and Italy who are developed and have all the resources to contain the deadly disease but what do we see. A lot of them are dying. Just yesterday, Ghana had recorded additional 25 cases which calls for more concern. So if in this crisis, Jean Mensah is pushing for the compilation of the new register, then she is inhumane and insensitive.” Hajia Mariam said.

She must stop the process if she is a woman and have compassion” Hajia Mariam pleads.
