Covid-19: Akyem Abuakwa Queen mothers Association Donate To Support About 940 Communities

The Akyem Abuakwa Queen Mothers Association under the leadership of the Okyenhemaa, Nana Adutwumwaa Dokua who doubles as the president of the eastern regional queen mothers association has today 30th April 2020 donated PPEs and other essentials needed to combat the deadly covid-19 pandemic to about 940 communities in the traditional area.

The items distributed include; Hundreds of Veronica buckets with their stands, Disposable towels/tissue papers, Gallons of Hand sanitisers, hundreds liquid soaps, Washing soaps, facemasks, PPEs, Surgical gloves, Bags of rice, and other provisions for onward distribution to medical facilities and to serve the needs of the people.

Presenting the items at the Ofori Panin fie, Nana Adutwumwaa Dokua, Okyenhemaa acknowledged the commendable efforts of the president of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and added that his efforts need to be complimented by the traditional Authority, Civil society organisations and all patriotic citizens of Ghana.

“The Akyem Abuakwa Queen Mothers Association, ever since the outbreak of the pandemic has instituted various measures to support government and community initiatives. we have instituted various sanitation groups dubbed, ‘Brighten the corner’- Okyenhemaa stated.

However, she revealed that the various groups which comprises of dedicated women who have voluntarily committed themselves to ensure that all corners of Akyem Abuakwa communities are clean.

She ended her speech by appealing to all citizens to humbly abide by the measure put up by government and the ministry of health to enhance the hygiene protocols so as to arrest the deadly disease.

Nana Adutwumwaa Dokua acknowledged the support of the Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin II and also the presence of Kyebi chief and the Ankobea hene of Kyebi.

Present were also the Ahenenana hemaa Nana Akosua Buor Gyankromah, and other queenmothers.
