Covid-19: Ofosu Ampofo Extends His Benevolence To Two Other Communities, NSutam And Osiem

In efforts to fight the deadly Pandemic coronavirus, the national chairman for the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has once again extended his benevolence to donating Veronica buckets, Gallons of hand sanitisers, liquid soaps and other essentials needed for the battle to Akyem Nsutam in the fanteakwa South district and Osiem in the Abuakwa north district all in the eastern region.

A week ago, Chariman did same for three communities in the Abuakwa North munipality; Akyem Adukrom, Sagyimase and Asikam which brings the total of communities the national chairman has supported in this awkward moments to five(5).

On sunday April 5 2020, delegations from Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo as monitored by Radio1News donated to Osiem Saviour church and Hawa Memorial hospital, Veronica Buckets, Disposable paper towels/tissues, boxes of liquid soaps, and gallon of Hand sanitiser to help intensify the hygiene protocols of citizens.

Mr Ofori, (Secretary) and Mr Asante Yeboah Chaplain, receiving the items on behalf of their head pastor thanked the donor very much for the donation and pledged to utilise it as purposed.

However, the assembly member of Nsutam, Hon. Alex together with unit committee members and chief’s representatives converged at the chief’s palace to receive their share of the donations.

They also thanked him for the benevolence and assured to remember him in prayers always but like Oliver Twist, always ask for more.

SITUATION UPDATE, CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES IN GHANA AS AT 05 APRIL 2020, 22:00HRS

No new confirmed case has been recorded after the previous update.

As at 4th April 2020, 22:00 hr, a total of 214 cases of COVID-19 with five (5) deaths have been recorded. The regions that have reported cases are as follows: Greater Accra Region has most cases (189) followed by the Ashanti Region (12), Northern Region (10), Upper West Region (1), Eastern Region (1) and Upper East Region (1).

Most of the cases are reported from routine / enhanced surveillance activities. Cases from travellers under mandatory quarantine are 90.

The period for mandatory quarantine for travellers who arrived 21-22 March 2020 end by the close of today. In all, a total 1,030 travellers were quarantined during the period. Out of these, 79 (7.7%) were positive during the initial testing whilst 951 were negative. Twenty-five (25) among those that were initially negative were found to have converted to be positive at the exit screening conducted on the 12th-13th day of follow up; bringing to a total of 104 which constitutes 10.1% among the travellers that were quarantined. All the Positive cases were triaged in Ga East Hospital and were segregated for treatment at isolation either in a health facility or at home.

All those that tested negative for the second time have been processed and discharged for their individual homes.

All five (5) deaths had underlying chronic medical conditions prior to COVID-19 infection
