Residents, indegenes and the royal family of Akyem Bosuso in the fanteakwa south district in the eastern region hail the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo as he donates Veronica buckets with stands, boxes of liquid soaps, gallons of hand sanitisers, tissue papers or disposable towels to the community.

The early hours of Thursday morning April 9 2020 was joyous in Bosuso most especially at the chief palace as the subchiefs and Queen mother of the community received the donations on behalf of the community to help mitigate the effects of the deadly pandemic coronavirus.

The queen mother and the subchiefs thanked chairman Ofosu Ampofo and expressed their gratitude to him for always being there for the community especially in times they need him most.

They also revealed that this is not the first time chairman has shown them his care for the community in that chunk of the community’s development have directly or indirectly come from him and therefore used the opportunity to bless him but like Oliver Twist, asked for more.

By this generosity and giving back to the society, Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has supported 6 communities with essentials to fight the coronavirus.

So far three district/municipal assemblies have benefited from his benevolence; Abuakwa south municipality, Abuakwa north municipality and Fanteakwa south district. Communities from Abuakwa south are Akyem Adukrom, Akyem Sagyimase, Akyem Asikam and those at Fanteakwa south are Akyem Nsutam and Akyem Bosuso where Akyem Osiem is in the Abuakwa north municipality.

It is therefore necessary to note that chairman Ofosu Ampofo started his political career from Bosuso as the branch organiser and was popularly known as ‘Sammy Fotoo’ in the then Fanteakwa district under the erstwhile president Jerry John Rawlings’ administration.

As at the time of filing this story, Ghana had recorded 313 cases with 6 death and 3 recovered.

There is a partial lockdown in Greater Accra, Kasoa and Greater Kumasi all as efforts to help fight the disease.
