Lockdown Free Food: Government Reduces Cost Of Hot Meal From ₵5 To ₵4 – Gender Minister Hints

The minister for gender and Social protection who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Agona West constituency, Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison has disclosed that the cost of a hot meal meant to feed the vulnerable has been reduced from ₵5.00 to ₵4.00 because they ministry is overstressed.
According to her, the extension of the lockdown has warranted the need for the ministry to adjust themselves to fit to but continue to the end, by providing food for the vulnerable.
In a phone interview with DJ Cobbie on the easter Monday drive show on Radio 1 100.7fm, Hon. Cynthia Morrison appealed to the citizenry to accept the adjustment to enable them sail through this hard times.
“First it was ₵5 but now we want them to help us to make it ₵4 because now we are overstressed. So we urge them to listen to us and cooperate”- Hon. Cynthia Morrison appealed.

Moreover, she revealed that never has the cost been any amount aside ₵5 so the citizenry must treat those rumors as hoax.
“Anyone who says it’s ₵10 is lying. It’s never true. I have not said on any platform that it’s ₵10. It was ₵5 and now reduced to ₵4”- She stressed.
Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison added that her outfit would ensure the quality of food disbursed is not compromised because of the cost cut even as the caterers have vouched to support the initiative.
The president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo disclosed in his address to the nation that government has made provisions to feed the vulnerable in Greater Accra, Greater Kumasi and residents of Kasoa when he imposed partial lockdown.
So far, the government through the gender and social protection ministry has embarked on the initiative by providing daily hot meal to help them survive the deadly Covid-19 pandemic crises.
Ghana has now recorded 566 confirmed cases of Covid-19 with 8 death and 4 recoveries.
