ACCIDENT: 8 Dead, 2 In Critical Condition As Sprinter Bus Collides With Cargo Truck

Even as the fight against the deadly novel Coronavirus pandemic in Ghana is getting worse in Ghana, the nation is hit with an accident which has claimed eight (8) precious lives and two (2) others in critical conditions receiving health care.

The sad incident occurred at Anyinasin in the Abuakwa South district in the eastern region in the late night of yesterday.

According to the MTTD boss of Kyebi division, DSP Henry Ntikura Agyeman, the yellow coloured Mercedes sprinter commercial bus with registration number, EN 512 – 20, en route from Accra to Nkawkaw lost brake control and collided with a parked cargo car with registration number, AS 5280 – N and unfortunately claimed 8 lives on the spot including both drivers.

DSP Henry Ntikura Agyeman further explained that the driver of the Cargo truck which was carrying assorted goods was under the truck in attempt to jerk the truck and so could not see anything and so lost his life. He added that a mechanic who was working on the cargo truck got his life spared and two including two others in the sprinter bus.

In all three lives are saved with one treated and discharged, 2 hospitalised at Enyiresi Government hospital and the 8 confirmed dead are deposited at Kyebi government morgue.

He thus used the opportunity to advise drivers to limit their speed in these hard times.
