Covid-19 Fight: Radio 1 Journalist, With Support From Isotoya Foundation, Yak and Sons, Donate To Two Communities In Fanteakwa South District.

As everyone is making an impact in mitigating the effects and spread of the deadly coronavirus pandemic globally, Oppong Kwaku Richard known in the media fraternity as Oppong Kyekyeku, a native of Nsutam and a journalist with Radio 1 Ghana, 100.7FM in the eastern region, gannered support from ISOTOYA Foundation, a UK based NGO and Yak and Sons Company to distribute essentials needed to fight the deadly virus in two communities in the fanteakwa south district in the eastern region.
The items which included but not limited to 500 Alcohol based hand sanitisers, Hundreds of liquid soaps, and 700 locally made face masks. Special mention is made to the fanteakwa south dress makers and seamstress Association who took time outside their busy schedules to sew all the nose masks for the special occasion as their token for such initiative.
The two communities that benefited are Akyem Nsutam and Nsuapemso community all in the fanteakwa south district in the eastern region.
Oppong Kyekyeku and his entorage, presented the items to the Chief of Akyem Nsutam, Osabarima Baafi Sarpong Kumankuma on Tuesday May 5 2020 to seek his permission and that of the traditional authorities before the distribution.

The distribution was made to market women, hakers and traders of Nsutam and Nsuapemso.
Osabarima Baafi Sarpong Kumankuma was highy astounded for such a feat by the Radio 1 journalist and expressed his gratefulness, gave him his blessings and urged all citizens and well-meaning natives of Nsutam to kindly follow suit to help fight the deadly virus.
He again noted that this is the first time, a native of Nsuatm has made such a donation ever since the outbreak of the virus, though they have received several donations in the combat.
During the distribution, there were also education to sensitize them on the need to enhance proper hygiene protocols.
Finally, Oppong Kyekyeku expressed heartfelt appreciation to Isotoya foundation, Yak and sons company especially their director, Shiraizu, the fanteakwa south tailors and dressmakers association and the media for making the initiative and dream possible.
