Former Chairman for the Public Interest And Accountability Committee (PIAC) Dr. Steve Manteaw has said Technical advisers of President Akufo Addo on the covid 19 management are ‘block headed’.

Mr Manteaw made the comment during a discussion on Adekye Mu Nsem magazine morning show, on AHOTOR FM (92.3) on Monday.

Government through the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service few weeks ago, revealed during a news conference hosted by the information Ministry, that Ghana’s cumulative cases of the covid 19 would soon be at it Peak per the statistics and arithmetics available on the projected data on the graph by the technical charges leading the eradication of the pandemic.

Critics of the mitigative measures by government in the fight of the covid 19 have reiterated that, the Ghana Health Service has for some time seems to be playing diplomacy with the cases of the coronavirus in the country.

Dr. Steve Manteaw, told Citizen Kofi Owusu that, information regarding Ghana’s covid. 19 is contrary to the real numbers under contention, amid raging debates from political actors and Civil Society Organisations.

Mr. Manteaw emphasized that, it is incumbent on the handlers of the covid 19 management, to bring out accurate information dissemination to the nation than to resort to populist statistics and data in the fight of the virus.

President Akufo Addo has extended the ban on social gatherings till 31 May, 2020.

Current data from the Ghana Health Service revealed some 4,7000 persons have contracted the disease, with 494 recoveries and death toll stands at 22.
