Dr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, National Chairman for the largest opposition party in Ghana, NDC has revealed that the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP has opened police recruitment in the hard times only to recruit their party’s vigilantes to disrupt the nation’s upcoming 2020 election.
According to the NDC stalwart, the comments made by the NPP deputy secretary, lawyer Obiri Boahen to beat anyone who disrupts the voter register compilation is an evidence of the notion behind the police recruit.
In a studio interview on Adekyemu Nsem (morning show on Universal Multimedia – Ahotor / Radio 1) on thursday, 14th May 2020, he could not fathom why the government would give the green light to police recruitment ahead of universities, polytechnics, and senior high schools and asked if they are more important than the university graduates.
“the comments made by Obiri Boahen confirms that the NPP is recruiting their party vigilantes for the election. Are they better than the university and the polytechnic graduates?” – Ofosu quizzed.

However, he urged the national peace council to do thorough investigations before they present to them the anti-vigilante bill.
