The Lockdown Was Not Managed Well, People Were Suffering; Reason For The Jubilation – Ofosu Ampofo

Even as a majority of Ghanaians jubilated to the president’s pronouncement of ban lift on three weeks partial lockdown in Greater Accra, Kasoa and Greater Kumasi, the national chairman of NDC, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has revealed that the reason people jubilated after the ban was lifted is that the lockdown was not managed well and people were really suffering.

He added that not only was it not managed well but the approach to lifting the ban was also bad.

According to the experienced communicator, the time was not appropriate for the president of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to have lifted the ban.

He added that when the cases were escalating especially in the eastern region and a lot of mouths were asking for eastern regional lockdown, the president lifted.

Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo added that the Akufo-Addo led NPP government should listen to those with ideas and technical know how’s to help the nation fight the pandemic.

He cited the advise of Prof Badu Akosa and that of the former health minister under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama’s administration, Alex Segbefia as prudent for the president follow.
