‘Trotro’ Driver And Mate Forced To Desilt Gutter And Clear Bushes For Defaulting Social Distance

The fight against the deadly coronavirus pandemic has always been preaching the need to observe the hygiene protocols, Keeping social distances and avoiding public gathering as preached by the ministry of health, government and other health practitioners.
Due to this, the government of Ghana led by H . E . Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has placen ban on public gathering in Ghana as well as entreating all and sundry to ensure social distancing.
Defaulters of social distancing has not been punished since they have always been preached to as an advise.
However, the military at the forestry check point at Bunso junction in the eastern region have taken a new approach in enforcing the social distancing in ‘trotro’ vehicles, or public transports. Drivers and mates who default the rule are punished by desilting gutters and clearing bushes before they are made to continue their journey.

This has come as a result of the Fanteakwa South District Assembly putting in measures to arrest and mitigate the effects of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic.
