Auditor General Directed To Hand Over To His Deputy With Immediate Effect

The Auditor General for the republic of Ghana, Mr Daniel Yaw Domelevo has been directed to hand over to his deputy, Mr Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu, after been forced to proceed on accumulated leave for a period of one hundred and twenty three (123) working days, approximately six (6) months.
This was revealed in a letter from the presidency dated 29th June 2020 and signed by Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications office of the president and gives the auditor General till Wednesday 1st July 2020 to park his garbage from the office.
The the release revealed that the president’s decision to direct the audio general to go on leave is based on section 20(1) and 31 of the labour Act, 2003 (Act 651) which applies to all workers including public office holders including the auditor general.
On 9th April 2009, the then president of Ghana, the late Prof John Evans Atta Mills also directed the then Auditor General, Edward Dua Agyeman to also proceed on an accumulated annual leave of 264 working days.
