Covi-19: Eastern Region Case Count Jumps To 143 With 96 Recoveries

The eastern regional health directorate has informed the general public that the region has recorded additional 26 cases bringing the total case count of Covid-19 in the region to 143.

In a release from the eastern regional health directorate on June 2 2020, it is reported that the region has discharged 96 patients for being cured of the deadly coronavirus pandemic with equivalent percentage of 67.1% which trails the previous data.

It is also revealed that 15 districts / municipal /metropolitan assemblies out of 33 assemblies have recorded cases of the deadly novel Covid-19 pandemic. Out of the 143 total case counts, 20 were confirmed among the clinically suspected patient, 9 confirmed among travelers, 109 are cases confirmed among contacts, 5 from screening of special population in Nsawam Adoagyiri district.

In all, the recovery rate is 67.1% which is good for the region.

However, the regional health directorate has stressed on the decision to enforce the hygiene protocols and continue the contact tracing to help mitigate the effects of the deadly coronavirus pandemic in the region.
