Covid-19 (Audio): Aspiring Parliamentary Candidate Donates PPEs Worth ₵24,000.00 to Fanteakwa South District

An aspiring parliamentary candidate in the FANTEAKWA south district in the eastern region, Dr Daniel Amaning Danquah has donated medical essentials in the fight against the deadly coronavirus pandemic to the district health directorate of Fanteakwa south district in the eastern region. The donation took place on Monday June 8 2020 at the premises of the district’s health center – Osino.

 The items donated include but not limited to;

1. Hand Sanitizer 5Litres – 20gallons

2. 70% Rubbing Alcohol 200mls – 180pcs

3. Infra red thermometers – 10pcs

4. Surgical Nose Mask – 1,000pcs

5. N95 Nose Mask – 60pcs

6. Goggles – 20pcs

7. Examination Gloves – 60pkts

8. Liquid Soap 5Litres 4gallons

Total value of items is 24,000 Cedis

Dr Daniel Amaning Danquah is a parliamentary candidate aspirant in the fanteakwa south constituency in the upcoming NPP parliamentary primaries which is slated for June 20 2020. This is his 3rd donation to the health center since the outbreak of the pandemic. He is the deputy registrar in charge of operations at the Ghana Pharmacy Council.

Dr Amaning after handing over the items disclosed the motive behind the donation and said even though people would have wanted him to spend all the huge sums of money on the delegates but he said, before the primaries, delegates might fall sick and would need health care, therefore the need to equip the health facilities with the necessary essentials needed for the health care of the entire district. He added that fighting the canker must not be made political.

The district chief executive officer, Hon. Kwasi Ntori Adjabeng received the items on behalf of the assembly and handed them over to the district health director, urged them to use the right tool for the right job.

The district health director of Fanteakwa south district, Mr Atuahene Agyeman also thanked the donors, assured to go by the directives. He added that they are putting things in place to contain the pandemic even as no case is reported in the district but the surrounding districts, which it shares borders with have recorded cases.

Dr Amaning Danquah owns and manages a community pharmacy in Kumasi which serves as training sites for both locally and internationally trained pharmacy students. He’s also a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, KNUST and an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for Ohio Northern and Roseman Universities, USA.

Ghana has so far recorded 9,638 confirmed cases, with 3,636 recoveries, 44 death leaving 5, 958 active cases as of reporting.
