As part of Radio 1, Farm Radio International program to use Radio in sensitizing the general public on the essential protocols to mitigate the effects of the deadly novel coronavirus pandemic, audiences and listeners are advised to follow and memorise some acronyms to stay safe in this unfortunate era.

It was revealed that people need to avoid MEN and rather follow WOMEN. This might seem weird but after the explanation, it sounded sensible.

According to Nana Yaa Agyapomaa, while discussing ‘Covid-19 Alert’ on the radio, she explained that MEN is an acronym where M means avoid touching your mouth. E means avoid touching your eyes and N also means one should avoid touching the nose since the mode of transmission has been through droplets and the hand can be a vector.

She further explained that in the fight, following WOMEN would be the best way to stay safe where W means Wash your hands. O means Observe social distancing. M means Mask up which explains that people should always wear face/nose masks more often. E on the other hand means Eat well and exercise as frequent as you can. Finally she revealed that the last N means No unnecessary travel.
