The president of the republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revealed that Ghana has so far become a reference point for other countries in the fight against the deadly novel coronavirus pandemic.
According to him, a majority of Ghanaians going accordingly to the protocols spelt out by the ministry of health and the Ghana health service in mitigating the effects of the virus is so paramount that the adherence led to the low death rate in Ghana among other nations.
He made this revelation in his 10th update on his address to the nation on sunday May 31 2020 from the presidency. “I thank each and every one of you for the collective and individual effort you have put in to help contain the spread of the disease on our shores. The great majority of us continue to adhere to the social distancing and enhanced hygiene protocols; we have, as a result, altered our way of life to accommodate these changes; and we continue to make sacrifices to speed up the process of bringing our lives safely back to a state of normalcy. We have demonstrated not only to ourselves, but also to the entire world, that we are capable of charting our own path towards containing the spread of this disease. We must all be proud that we have become a reference point for others on how to combat it.” – Nana Addo said.
He used the opportunity to ease the restrictions imposed some time ago.
