June 3 Disaster: I Received GHS 10, 000.00 From NPP Government – Victim Reveals

A victim of the june 3 disaster identified as Ruth has revealed that Government took care of her health care at the hospital and also received a token of GHS 10,000.00 for her upkeep.

Explaining her ordeal to the media as today turns 5 years since the sad incidence happened, Ruth who looked perfectly well disclosed that all efforts to get help from the previous government proved futile but the incumbent government i.e. Akufo – Addo – Bawumia – led NPP administration paid her GHS10,000.00.

“After pressing the government for sometime, i saw my name published in the news paper to come for my benefit. So i went to the assembly and was given GHS10,000.00. I didn’t pay anything at the hospital when receiving health care because i was told government would pay so i don’t know whether government has paid or not. Now i have fully recovered.” – Ruth explained on Atinka Tv.

The 2015 Accra floods resulted from heavy continuous rainfall in Accra the largest city in Ghana. The rain started on 1 June 2015. Other causes of this flood is as a result of the improper planning of settlement in Accra, choked gutters which block the drainage system and a few other human factors. The floods have resulted in heavy traffic on the roads in the city and also a halt in commercial activities as markets were flooded and workers trapped. Mayor of Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije described the flooding as critical. At least 25 people have died from the flooding directly, while a petrol station explosion caused by the flooding killed at least 200 more people.
